CONGRATULATIONS, on deciding to take up Pistol shooting.
Shooting in general is a great challenging sport to get into that the family can get involved in that is not too affected by the weather.

Now you have taken the first step, the second step is to complete an application form and return it to the club so we can start the process of getting you shooting.

We will be honest with you that getting a Full Pistol licence is not a speedy process it can take in excess of 13 Months with waiting times.

New Members will be supported through the process, but you must be committed to putting in the time to complete all the requirements as we will not hold your hand.
Please make sure that you read the NSW Firearms Registry website, so you are clear on what they expect from firearms licence holder. If you choose not to read the registry site you are solely responsible for any trouble you get yourself into with the registry or the club.

Completed application forms can be returned.
- in person
- by mail

Newtec Charges a joining fee and annual membership in the first year, we do not charge for a Pistol Safe Handling course, and we do not take a cent until you are a signed probationary member.
Newtec is committed to supporting the sport and we will be honest and upfront with you.

The club generally prefers members to join October to May but if you wish to join May to September you will be informed fully of your financial obligation so you can make a decision that best suits you. Ultimately if you would rather wait until the new membership year we will accommodate you either way.
NEWTEC Pistol Club reserves the right to refuse/cancel applications at its discretion.
General Information and where to find it!

The club can help you with club related matters no trouble.

The club cannot advise you on Medical, or licencing matters as the best people to ask is your doctor for medical and NSW Firearms Registry for licencing matters.
( Remember to note the date/time/name of the person you spoke with and receipt number for the call if available.
This is so you can follow up later on. Please REGISTER any mail sent to firearms registry. )

Any interested parties, it is expected that you are across the requirements to hold a firearms licence before you submit an application, why? Simply you will get yourself into trouble and ignorance is not a defence.
Just be diligent and do the research first, as shooting may not be for you at this time in your life.
If you are able to comply and keen then what are you doing put an application in!

Shooting is not a cheap sport in the first year it is going to cost you roughly $1000.00 to get you to the PPL stage (if issued) and then you will obviously you will have the move to a full licence which will be different depending on if you have a long arms licence or not (may be unto $200).
